Half of the Beast

Did you ever play the battle game with your candy? Funkos are dying, the internet might be dead, and the penny is for sure dead. What a week! Tom Brady's successfully cloned his dog which brings up what exactly qualifies as cloning. Are we in the cyberpunk future? Alex and Jakub discuss the conundrum of creating and monetary rewards that follow. Food in America is changing, which begs the question of how long its shelf life should actually be. Alex does a deep dive on the history of insurance. All the things and some more stuff, probably.

Demon Potatoes

Spaghetti Town welcomes first time visitor, indie author and creator, Laurie Cunningham, all the way from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Alex grills Laurie about Canadian stereotypes and her opinions on them vary. Alex inquires about the legacy of Bret Hart and what tv shows accurately depict Canada correctly. Laurie deep dives into her writing journey and how Demon Potatoes came to be & her approach to writing. Sorry, but this episode is super Canadian, eh!

Polymorphic Neocentrism

The word of the year has already been decided, but it's actually two words. Jakub thinks it's premature to decide this early. Alex makes a proclamation that nothing is free & the struggles of making a bad meal with the ripple effect it has on the household. Alex gets irritated that Jakub is too wishy-washy when stating opinions.  Halloween was a success! A new niche hobby is becoming super mainstream now, what does that mean for hardcore fans? Somehow they discuss the current stance on things in late 2025 and its beyond ridiculous and unnecessary, all because Alex is trying to get excited for a little adventure but can't. A surprise guest pops in and quizzes Jakub on geography. Everything is normal right?

Sometimes just being a consumer renders you helpless as a major corporation retracts a cancellation but increases its streaming service price in the process. When will it be enough? Jakub tries to start spooky season off with a list of Halloween adjacent celebrations from across the world. Jakub takes a HARD stance on a particular trend but Alex does not join him. Seconds To Midnight

German super artist and friend of Spaghetti Town, Frederik Hornung returns to talk about his first solo Kickstarter project, Seconds to Midnight. They also discuss the under discussed responsibilities that one must juggle to get a project funded. Fred gives his unique perspective on the 'passion vs paycheck' discussion and how finding an audience drawing an established IP has helped open up new avenues. Learning a new language is hard and Fred talks about the languages he was taught in Germany. Alex and Jakub talk about the rambunctious things boys did in high school in America, while Fred enlightens on the things he did in Germany as well. All this and more!
